Textile Lining and Cleats

Textile Lining:

In our studies and research on cleats we have come across the term “textile lining” quite frequently. Some of the various sports cleats manufacturers are promoting the “textile lining” as an added benefit and something that makes the shoe “special” or better than the others.

So what is it? Textile can basically be thought of as a fabric. And the lining simply refers that the fabric is on the inside of the shoe or on top of the insole / socklliner. Very frequently the shoe has a sockliner. This sockliner is usually made from EVA, but can have a fabric (textile lining) placed on top of the EVA for various purposes (less slippage, less friction, sweat absorbing, comfort, etc…). Also, the fabric can be placed on the inside of the upper... again for the same purposes (slippage, friction, comfort, etc…).
