Nubuck and Cleats
"Natural Leather Nubuck" is cowhide leather that has that has been sanded soft on the outside (the "skin" side). The material looks similar to suede. Natural Leather Suede is sanded soft on the inside of the animal hide. This "inside" is then turned outside and what we see (on the outside of our shoes for example)... is the sanded soft inside of the animal hide.
The outside of the animal hide is much tougher and abrasion resistant than the inside, so shoes manufactured using this type of leather tend to last longer, have much better abrasion resistance and are more durable in inclement weather versus suede.
We should now talk about "synthetic nubuck-like materials". These materials are made from plastic fibers and are made to feel and look like "natural leather nubuck". Normally, synthetic nubuck is much cheaper than natural leather nubuck.
