When you see "Zoom Air" describing the "cushioning technology" in your basketball shoes or baseball, football, or soccer cleats, Nike is telling you that they have constructed the

of the shoe using an ultra thin layer of air. This should bring the player closer to the ground allowing for superior foot control and agility. The zoom technology's ultra-thin layer of air purprtedly allows the player to truly feel the playing surface, keeping him more in touch with the game.
