Mizuno 9-Spike Finch G4

CI (Cleats-Info) generally really likes Mizuno Products and we also like the Mizuno 9-Spike Finch G4 softball cleats. We rated them at a 7 out of 10 possible stars.

We really like the inside of the shoe and the design of the upper and the general shape of the shoe. We also feel that Mizuno’s Wave Midsole is the best in its class.

We are slightly concerned about the cleat pattern. It is funny because it is a patented 9-Spike Technology, but on these cleats we count ten. Actually, it looks like for any of the molded cleats (baseball or softball) there are ten cleats, and for actual spikes there are then nine spikes. Whatever… doesn’t really matter.

We are also slightly concerned about the outsole material (actual cleat and bottoms of the shoes). Again, these are only slight concerns as Mizuno has a very solid reputation in baseball and softball. However, we will be searching hard for player reviews concerning the cleats and the durability of the outsole. Thus far, we have found no player reviews.
