Cleat Pattern





When we talk about cleat pattern, we are refering to the design and placement of the cleats on the bottom of the shoe (outsole).

In general, it is a simple as that. Now when we start talking about which pattern is better, and for what reason, and for what sport, and for what position??? Then the discussion can get really deep!

Below is a picture of the Mizuno 9-Spike Pattern (actual metal spikes)...

When we review a pair of cleats, one of the parameters that we evaluate is the pattern and its effect on traction.

So far, for womens softball cleats... Ringor's and Mizuno's have the best patterns...

And for youth baseball cleats... Mizuno's have the best by far...
