Acteva
New Balance claims that Acteva, the technology behind these
midsoles,
allows the creation of midsoles which are 32% lighter than your average midsole - yet equally or more comfortable. These midsoles actually were originally designed as a key component for the New Balance line of running shoes.
They are designed to provide optimal shock dispersion throughout the body and legs, and to allow for excellent compression upon impact. As these are designed for long-distance running, they should be more than adequate for baseball cleats - from a comfort perspective.
The underlying constituents allowing the lightweight performance are Dupont's Elvaloy and Engage
EVA
Alternatives.
New Balance is currently using these midsoles in most of their high end sport shoes.
