Nike Womens Vapor
The Nike Womens Vapor line of cleats is still the queen of the hill for women's soccer in Nikeland They still haven't come out with a women's Superfly version. The full name is: Nike Mercurial Vapor FG Women's Soccer Cleat. "FG" stands for "firm ground". The
uppers
are made from
synthetic Teijin,
for firmess and clean ball/foot contact, and employs the industry lightest upper components: Nike's
Flywire
technology at midfoot. The shoes still feature the distinctive lace covers to enhance ball contact and smooth the ball-strike surface. The shoes are coated with an extra sticky material that is supposed to enhance ball control, but we have heard mixed reviews on this feature. Players claim everything from no effect to actually over-controlling the ball. The
EVA sockliner
combines with the lightweight carbon-composite chassis to effectively disperse cleat pressure and assure in-play comfort. Meanwhile, at the ground level the
outsoles
employ the Nike multi-directional cleat pattern which was created specifically for the game. The outsole materials are glass-fiber platforms and full
TPU
studs. The shoes weigh 6.8 ounces. The Nike Womens Mercurial Vapor is simply a good cleat, though they are a bit pricey. We haven't found them much cheaper then Nike's list price of $220, even though there are newer models available.
