Mizuno 9 Spike Classic G4
A great little cleat snippet: after Colorado Rockies first baseman, Todd Helton received a sponsorship deal with Mizuno - he continued wearing his Nike Clipper SCS - but blacked out the Nike Swoosh and had a Mizuno Logo applied over the top. Is that an example of brand loyalty or dis-loyalty? We’ll leave that answer up to the reader… But whateve it is, it shoes how you can't rely purely on endorsements when selecting your cleats!
Funny, Mizuno cleats didn’t seem to slow Rickey Henderson down on his race to a league record 1,406 stolen bases and Cooperstown! The shoes have tops for added "breathe-ability" and feature a Wave Midsole for added stability.

Mizuno says the patented 9-spike configuration is both light-weight and specifically designed to aid in the three key functions of baseball play: running, batting and throwing. The shoes weigh 12.3 ounces, according to Mizuno, though we have seen other sources quote weights of up to 14 ounces.

A couple reviewers state that although they were happy with the shoe performance-wise, they say the spike isn’t as comfortable as they had hoped.
